Artist Amiri Farris is known for his dynamic and
constantly changing forms of art.  Never relying on a
single medium or genre, his nascent artistic view and
style are always organically evolving and developing.
Notable of his choice of tools are; computer aided
graphics, paired with fine art mediums, collage, and
muti-media applications.  His works use photos
combined with original imagery to create art that cel-
ebrates life and his contemporary experiences.
He was born in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, and grew
up in West Palm Beach Florida.  He attended and
received his masters of fine art in painting, with his
undergraduate degree in Illustration, from the Savan-
nah College of Art and Design. His work has been
exhibited in major venues nationally and interna-
tionally, from the US. Capital in Washington DC., to
Paris, France and St. Petersburg, Russia.  Amiri’s
contemporary artworks are full of exuberant color
and intimate personal experiences. His deep engag-
ing layers invite you to look deeper into the painting,
where images and colors dance across the canvas in
an energetic display of expression.
Amiri’s academic appointments include; Professor of
Fine Arts Foundations and Graphic Design at Geor-
gia Southern University, at the Betty Foy
Sanders Department of Art, and Professor of Fine
Arts, at Savannah State University.  Amiri also works
as a Freelance Graphic Designer and Illustrator for
which he has gained a variety of local and national
clients.
